Gert Schoonbee

Managing Director: T-Systems South Africa
Acting Vice President: Sales
Gert Schoonbee was appointed Managing Director of T-Systems in South Africa, effective 1 April 2012. Gert is also responsible for Sales and Business Development with T-Systems in Johannesburg, South Africa. This portfolio includes Marketing, Strategy and Solution Development.
He has experience in various industries and solutions such as supply chain, solution architecture and process optimisation as well as IT organisation and governance design within a number of industries, including logistics, financial, process and health.
In his Business Development & Strategy role, he is responsible to design and develop large and complex solution designs (Convergence solutions) across multiple delivery units (Service Lines), while guiding the company in Engagement, Partner, SOP and Go2Market models. This also includes Marketing and the BEE approach.
In his role of Sales, he is responsible for the leading, guiding, tracking and driving the Sales performance across all units throughout the year. This is done by continuously reviewing market opportunities and trends, resource allocation, sales methodologies and practices, delivery capabilities and other strategic alignment activities.
Gert joined T-Systems in August 2000. Prior to T-Systems, Gert was a director and co-owner at e-volution responsible for Business Development.

Gert holds a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pretoria, and a MBA from the Graduate School of Business of the University of Cape Town.
