OMG, South Africas largest financial services company, has awarded T-Systems in South Africa a contract for supplying and maintaining its complete ICT infrastructure.
The deal, valued at over 150 million Euros for a term of five years, also includes identifying and exploiting ICT infrastructure and service delivery synergies across the Old Mutual Group. The contract signing followed months of rigorous selection among the country's major ICT service providers.
The scope of the deal includes data center management, disaster recovery, service desk and management tools for Old Mutual plc, a financial services company, and Mutual & Federal Insurance Company Ltd, a leading short-term insurer. The contract also involves the transition of approximately 400 employees to T-Systems.
Co-management outsourcing model
T-Systems will implement a co-management outsourcing model ensuring that decisions are taken jointly from operational, tactical and strategic levels. The co-management model ensures greater synergy and flexibility as well as ICT services optimized to the requirements of the customer.
Paul Hanratty, Managing Director of Old Mutual South Africa says: "We recognise the importance of our IT infrastructure to enable Old Mutual to deliver our full range of financial services to the South African market. This deal with T-Systems will enable improved delivery and efficiency, whilst exploring the benefits of emerging technologies."
